Call for Applications for the 2017 UC Women's Initiative Due 10/31

October 20, 2016

Dear colleagues,

On behalf of the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women, we are excited to announce a call for applications for the 2017 UC Women’s Initiative for Professional Development, a professional development program supported in part by the UC Office of the President.

Launched last year, the initiative is designed for mid-career women, both faculty and staff, who demonstrate the potential to advance their careers at University of California. UC Merced will select up to four campus members to participate. The program is highly experiential and relies heavily on full participant contribution. As such, only UC employees who can commit to full participation in all sessions will be selected. Due to the required time commitment, we strongly encourage applicants to check with their supervisor before submitting an application.

I encourage you to nominate qualified women and/or to self-nominate. Unfortunately, the submission timeline for nominations is short. Applications can be sent to the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on the Status of Women (CACSW) no later than Monday, Oct. 31, so CACSW can  recommend nominations to Chancellor Leland. Those selected for the program will be notified by mid-November.

If you are interested in applying or would like to nominate someone, please submit an application by the deadline.

Best regards,

Luanna Putney
Associate Chancellor and Senior Advisor to the Chancellor
