Early Childhood Education Center (ECEC)

UC Merced's Early Childhood Education Center provides a high-quality childcare and educational program for young children of parents who work at UC Merced and community members. The ECEC offers a safe, happy, creative and nurturing environment.

Campus Advocacy, Resources and Education (CARE) Office

The CARE Office (formerly known as the Violence Prevention Program) provides education about gender-based violence including sexual violence, domestic/dating violence and stalking. The CARE Office serves all individuals affiliated with UC Merced including students, staff and faculty, and is committed to creating a university community that is free of the threat of violence.

The office provides information about these topics for all incoming UC Merced students, offers trainings for those who may be first responders, and creates a coordinated community response to best serve survivors and create a community where it is clear that perpetrating acts of sexual violence is unacceptable. The program provides prevention education for the campus community as well as advocacy for survivors, their friends and family members.

Human Resources

The Department of Human Resources is responsible for human resources and programs. This includes strategic planning, employee and labor relations, talent management, staff development, recruitment, compensation, performance management and the development and maintenance of staff personnel policies with the intent of ensuring compliance in all areas. Human Resources is a strategic partner focused on providing optimal customer service in support of the university’s academic mission.

Lactation Accomodations and Information

The campus is committed to promoting a family-friendly work environment by providing programs and services to help employees achieve success at work and in their personal lives. To that effect, employees and administrators are encouraged to be accepting of nursing mothers and departments will provide a location and a reasonable amount of time to accommodate their lactation needs pursuant to state laws.
 

Office of Campus Climate and Compliance (OC3)

The Office of Campus Climate and Compliance provides direction, guidance and resources to assist the campus in creating and maintaining a positive and healthy learning, working and living environment. The Office is committed to enhancing campus climate, encouraging inclusion, fostering respect and promoting community while fulfilling UC Merced’s mission of research, teaching and service in an ethical and compliant manner.
 

Women's Programs - Office of Student Life

Women's Programs establishes a network of support and advocates for the positive educational and co-curricular experiences for all members of the UC Merced community while maintaining a specific focus on gender and women.

The vision of Women's Programs is to empower, educate and celebrate the lives of women. Women's Programs provides opportunities for the UC Merced community to learn, grow, and reinforce the leadership and well-being of women.

Social Justice programs - Office of Student Life

With a focus on social justice, personal and community development, cultural awareness, and advocacy, Social Justice programs cultivate and develop an inclusive environment where students are aware of local, national, and global issues. Programs equip and prepare students to thrive in a diverse global society.
