Society of Women Engineers (SWE)

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) is a not-for-profit educational and service organization that empowers women to succeed and advance in the field of engineering while recognizing their contributions as engineers and leaders.

Women in Science and Engineering

Women in Science and Engineering (WiSE) is a non-profit organization established to generate and promote equal opportunities for women in diverse science and engineering disciplines. WiSE encourages participation of all students, researchers, faculty members and professionals in Merced and surrounding areas who are involved or interested in science and engineering.


Lambda Alliance

The Lambda Alliance is a coalition group dedicated to the promotion and representation of the interests of gender and sexual minorities and their allies.

National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE)

NSBE's mission is to increase the number of culturally responsible black engineers who excel academically, succeed professionally and positively impact the community.

AdvanceGeo Partnership: Empowering Geoscientists to Transform Workplace Climate

The Earth Science Women's Network , Association for Women Geoscientists and the American Geophysical Union are partnering to address the problem of sexual harassment in the earth, space and environmental sciences with a four-year, $1.1 million grant from the National Science Foundation ADVANCE program. A primary goal of the project is to improve work climate conditions by developing bystander intervention workshops for department heads, chairs, faculty and grad students to appropriately respond to and prevent sexual and other types of harassment on campus and in the field as well as include awareness and prevention training of harassment in the teaching of ethical conduct in research.
