Campus Advocacy, Resources & Education-(CARE) Office
UC Merced is committed to creating a space free from the threat of violence. Violence and the fear of violence interfere with the university community.
The CARE Office (formerly called the Violence Prevention Program) provides response to and education about gender-based violence, including sexual violence, domestic/dating violence, and stalking. The CARE Office serves all individuals affiliated with UC Merced including students, staff, and faculty members.
The goal of the office is to provide education on these topics for all incoming UC Merced students, provide trainings for those who may be first responders on these issues and to create a coordinated community response in order to best serve survivors and create a community where it is clear that perpetrating acts of sexual violence is unacceptable. The program provides prevention education for the campus community as well as advocacy for survivors, friends and family members of survivors.
